2021 Silverado will get innovative Multi-Flex tailgate, plus more trailering tech and power

It’s good to work hard, but it’s better to work smart, utilizing everything in your toolbox to make the workday quicker, easier and safer than you can just by sheer brute strength alone. Chevy Silverado has always been the truck that works harder and smart than the competition. Recently, Chevy announced a few new innovations that will help owners of the all-new 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 get more out of their workday with less effort.

First up is the announcement of the 2021 Silverado 1500’s all-new Multi-Flex Tailgate, which Chevrolet says will be available in early 2021 on all new 2021 Silverado 1500 models. While other trucks fool around with features you’ll never use, the Multi-Flex Tailgate will be a game-changer at work or play, with six unique functions that allow more flexibility when loading or accessing cargo. That includes a set of heavy-duty, fold-down steps integrated right into the tailgate that deploy in seconds, with a weight capacity of up to 375 pounds.

Other features of the available Multi-Flex Tailgate include load stops of differing heights to help you haul a range of cargo more securely and more. Combined with the 2021 Silverado’s bed, which features available LED task lighting, a 120-volt outlet that can power most corded tools and 12 fixed tie-downs, the Multi-Flex Tailgate makes any 2021 Silverado 1500 a work-ready machine.

In addition to the Multi-Flex Tailgate, the 2021 Chevy Silverado will kick the trailering utility way up though advanced technology and old-fashioned muscle.

The 2.7-liter turbo engine is already a winner on efficiency, but in the 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500, it becomes a trailering and hauling king as well, increasing the maximum towing capacity of a 2.7-liter-equipped Silverado to 9,600 pounds while increasing max payload to 2,280 pounds. 2021 Silverado 1500 models with the 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel engine, meanwhile, up their maximum towing capacity to 9,500 pounds in two-wheel drive models, while the price of the Duramax option drops a full $1,500.

Other big news for the 2021 Silverado 1500 is improved trailering technology, including a class-leading 15 unique camera views to help you keep an eye on your load. Also new: a trailer length indicator that helps you judge when it’s safe to change lanes, an all-new Jack Knife Alert that detects when a potential jack-knife is imminent, a rear side-view enhancement and more.

The 2021 Chevrolet SIlverado 1500 will be here soon at McLarty Daniel Chevrolet, and it’s bringing even more style, capability and technology than ever before. Hot Springs National Park

Hot Springs, Arkansas
Distance from NWA: 196 miles

One of our nation’s oldest National Parks, Hot Springs National Park was established by Congress in April 1832 to preserve a series of naturally-occurring hot springs that had been a source of recreation and healing in the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas for eons, utilized by Native American tribes, trappers and explorers alike. There’s plenty to see and do in Hot Springs besides taking a long bath in naturally-heated hot water, though, including learning about Hot Springs’ former identity as a mobster hangout as well as the spring training site for early 1900s baseball greats, including Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner and Babe Ruth, who swatted the first 300-plus-foot home run in Hot Springs’ Whittington Park. Visit the National Park Headquarters inside the old Fordyce Bathhouse on Central Avenue for full information about local attractions.

Abraham Lincoln Home National Historic Site

Springfield, Illinois
Distance from NWA: 419 miles

Considered America’s greatest-ever president by many historians, Abraham Lincoln rose from humble beginnings to become the savior of the Union and the man who finally drove the stain of chattel slavery from the United States. For those looking to walk in Honest Abe’s long shadow, a visit to Springfield, Illinois and the Abraham Lincoln Home National Historic Site is a bucket-list trip. Established in August 1971, the site at 413 S. Eighth Street in Springfield preserves the only home that Lincoln ever owned in his lifetime: a twelve room house that Lincoln and his wife Mary Todd Lincoln purchased in 1844. Lincoln would live there, building his law career, until he won the presidency in 1861. Sadly, his assassination by John Wilkes Booth days after the end of the Civil War in 1865 meant he would never live there again. Today, the site includes the Lincolns’ restored home, which you can tour, along with four surrounding blocks and a visitor’s center.

Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site

Little Rock, Arkansas
Distance from NWA: 200 miles

Many of our National Historic Sites, Parks and Monuments were set aside to commemorate moments of turmoil and turbulence in our national story, but few speak more about the courage of young people than Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site. Established as a National Historic Site in November 1998 during the tenure of Arkansas-born president Bill Clinton, Central High National Historic Site serves to recall the events of Fall 1957, when nine black teenagers, now known as the Little Rock Nine, sought to integrate the city’s all-white high school following the landmark Brown v. Board of Education ruling by the Supreme Court three years prior. What followed was a firestorm of controversy, with President Dwight D. Eisenhower eventually sending in troops to ensure that the nine students could attend school. Today, the site is centered on the circa 1927 school and a visitor’s center where you can learn more about the nine brave teens who changed the course of
American history. While you’re in town, don’t miss the life-size statues of the Little Rock Nine on the Arkansas State Capitol grounds.

Gateway Arch National Park

St. Louis, Missouri
Distance from NWA: 323 miles

That’s right: St. Louis is reachable in the 2020 Chevy Trax on far less than one tank of fuel! Built to preserve and showcase one of America’s “Great Wonders,” Gateway Arch National Park was established in February 2018 as a 90-acre preserve around the foot of the 630-foot-high, 630-foot-wide Gateway Arch, which was completed in October 1965 and which has since become the enduring symbol of St. Louis as the tallest manmade structure in Missouri. In addition to the massive arch, Gateway Arch National Park also serves to preserve the Old St. Louis Courthouse, a monumental structure which was the location of the original proceedings in the Dred Scott Case of 1857, which led directly to the furtherance of slavery and thereby to the Civil War. Of course, there’s plenty of other things to do in St. Louis while you’re there, from viewing hundreds of species at the always-free St. Louis Zoo to sampling some of the best pizza, barbecue, record shops and antiquing anywhere in Missouri
and the midwest.

2021 Corvette debuts, with upgraded performance, paint colors and more

McLarty Daniel Chevrolet is your Northwest Arkansas Superstore, so it’s no wonder we’re crazy for the all-new C8 Corvette around here. The first run of 2020 C8 Corvettes sold out before the first one even rolled off the assembly line in Bowling Green, Kentucky, but if you missed out the first year, good news! Chevrolet recently announced full details on the 2021 Corvette Stingray, and it’s gonna be even better than the debut C8, with performance upgrades, exclusive colors and graphic packages, and even more technology to turn every drive into a thrill ride. So read on for what we know about the 2021 Corvette Stingray. Ready to get on the waiting list? Give us a call today at McLarty Daniel Chevrolet of Springdale!

CLICK HERE TO RESERVE A 2021 CORVETTE C8 FROM MCLARTY DANIEL CHEVROLET OF SPRINGDALE

Some of the best news about the 2021 Corvette is that it retains the crown as the most affordable mid-engine supercar in the world, keeping the sub-$60,000 price tag: just $59,995 for the coupe and $67,495 for the convertible. Considering there are top-tier half-ton pickup trucks that sell for well over $60 grand these days, that’s still a heck of a deal on the Great American Sports Car. For example: you could buy his-and-hers C8s for the price of an entry-level Ferrari that’s actually slower and waaaay more mechanically persnickety than the C8! Now that’s what we call value (and an anniversary present that will keep your spouse smiling for days)!

“Our mission was to develop a new sports car, combining the successful attributes of Corvette with the performance and driving experience of mid-engine supercars,” said Tadge Juechter, Corvette executive chief engineer. “We are thrilled with the enthusiasm the mid-engine Corvette brought following its launch and are keeping it fresh with new content for the 2021 model.”

2021 C8 New Features

Other new standard and available options on the 2021 C8 include:

  • Magnetic Selective Ride Control suspension available without springing for the Z51 performance package!
  • Standard Wireless Apple CarPlay/Wireless Android Auto
  • The eye-searing Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat exterior color
  • Silver Flare Metallic exterior color
  • A stunning new Sky Cool Gray and Yellow Strike interior color
  • New Full Length Dual Racing Stripes in Blue, Orange, Red and Yellow
  • Hood-stinger Stripes in Carbon Flash/Edge Red, Carbon Flash/Edge Yellow and Carbon Flash/Midnight Silver
  • Driver mode on-screen visualization
  • A new digital track tachometer
  • Standard Buckle To Drive, a safety technology that, when activated, prevents the vehicle from shifting out of park if the driver’s seat belt isn’t buckled.

So what stays from 2020 on the 2021 C8? Pretty much everything you lusted after in 2020, including the powerful 6.2-liter LT2 V8, the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission with manual and automatic modes, the drive mode selector that can optimize all systems for a variety of conditions including Tour, Sport, Track, and Weather. Also available is the Z51 Performance Package featuring upgraded brakes, a stiffer, track-ready suspension, a throatier exhaust, an exclusive rear spoiler and front splitter, heavy-duty cooling system and high performance tires. Another thing that remains the same: the C8’s drop-dead-gorgeous looks, which blew us all away when the model debuted.

We’ve never seen demand for a vehicle like we did with the 2020 C8 Stingray, and something tells us the 2021 model is going to be just as hot for drivers looking to get behind the wheel of the most affordable supercar on the planet. Want to inquire about getting on the waiting list for a 2021 Corvette C8? Then give us a call today at McLarty Daniel Chevrolet of Springdale, where the only thing that goes faster than the C8 is our stock of them heading out the door. Don’t wait! Give us a call today, or stop in and check out our full selection of Chevrolet Performance cars now.

THAT BEAUTIFUL NEW LOOK

Since the origin of the nameplate and model, Chevy Tahoe has picked up the exterior styling of the latest generation of the Chevy Silverado. With Silverado having undergone a top-to-bottom redesign in 2019, we’ve been anxiously awaiting what GM designers would do to incorporate the bold and modern look of the latest Silverado into the Tahoe and Suburban. The wait is over, and boy are we impressed! Confident, poised and elegant from any angle, we swear it’s the best-looking Tahoe ever, and we know you will too!

THE AVAILABLE 3.0-LITER DURAMAX TURBO-DIESEL

For years now, Duramax diesel power has been a legend under the hood of Silverado 2500 and 3500 heavy duty trucks, providing the latest in bombproof engine architecture with today’s economical fuel delivery systems to create monster low-end torque. Chevy Silverado 1500 got the all-new “Baby Duramax” 3.0-liter turbo-diesel last year, so we knew it was only a matter of time before the engine became available in the Tahoe. If you’ve been waiting for that day, ’21 is your lucky number! Featuring 460 lb-ft. of torque and fuel economy of an incredible 30 MPG, it makes the ’21 Tahoe into a fuel-sipping, bit-towing MVP.

MORE LEGROOM AND CARGO ROOM THAN EVER

When folks go shopping for a full-size SUV, size is a big consideration. Does it have the cargo room to haul everything you need to get there? Does it have the legroom to keep your passengers from feeling like they’re trapped in a vehicle instead of going on an adventure? The engineers and designers behind the ’21 Tahoe heard your cry, America, and delivered in a big way. How big? Try sixty-six percent more cargo room behind the third-row seat than the previous model, and ten additional inches of legroom for passengers in the third row. Need rear-seat legroom more than you need cargo room? The second-row of the ’21 Tahoe can slide back a full foot more, for limo-like comfort.

A MORE COMFORTABLE RIDE THAN EVER

If you’re old enough, you might remember riding in the first-generation Tahoe, which featured a suspension that was pretty much unchanged from the Silverado. Let’s just say the ride quality of Tahoe 1.0 left a lot to be desired, especially if you were rattling around in the rear seats! That was then, and the ’21 Tahoe is now. Featuring a new, fully-independent rear suspension that’s the most advanced of any full-size SUV, the ride quality of the ’21 Tahoe is a leap over even the ’20 Tahoe, and we encourage you to test drive both to feel the difference. Looking for a ride on par with European luxury cars? Then step up to the ’21 Tahoe’s available, segment-first Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, with automatic load-leveling and a ride that’s literally floating on air.

SAFER THAN EVER

Because we sell so many Chevy Tahoe models to families, we’ve been proud over the years to tout the model’s longstanding and ever-growing commitment to safety, with Tahoe being at the vanguard of technologies like side-curtain airbags and collision-avoidance systems. Still, we honestly can’t believe how much safety has gone into the all-new ’21 Tahoe, which features over 30 standard and available safety and driver assistance systems to help you avoid accidents and shield you in a cocoon of protection if a collision is unavoidable. In addition to the most standard airbags ever offered on a Tahoe, that includes Chevy’s innovative inboard restraint system, which deploys seat-bolster-mounted airbags in the event of a side-impact collision to keep passengers from smashing into each other, Forward Collision Alert, Following Distance Indicator, Rear Parking Assist, Trailering Hitch Guidance and more.

Now that we’ve had a few days to get to know the all-new ’21 Chevy Tahoe, we absolutely cannot wait to introduce you to the most beautiful, most comfortable, most advanced Chevy Tahoe EVER! Four reasons why a new Silverado from McLarty Daniel Chevy is the ultimate gift for Dad!

Father’s Day is in June, and so is the beginning of summer, and both always get us thinking about Dad here at McLarty Daniel Chevrolet of Springdale. Everybody’s got a Dad, and other than the corny jokes, real Dads do a lot for their kids along the way, from teaching you how to ride a bike to how to fish, how to dance to how to drive.

While a new Chevrolet truck from McLarty Daniel Chevrolet is a heck of a Father’s Day present, maybe your father is one of those Superdads who deserves it. Seen below, check out our list of four reasons your dad deserves and could use a new Chevy truck from McLarty Daniel Chevrolet!

1) BECAUSE HE’S DAD

Let’s face it: if you’re thinking about buying your dad a new Chevy Silverado or Colorado, he must have hit it out of the park in the Dad department. If you’ve got kids of your own, you know how tough a job being somebody’s father is, and nobody gives you an instruction manual the day you bring the baby home from the hospital. So to all the cool dads, the kind dads, the thoughtful dads and the dads with a big shoulder to cry on: thanks. Wouldn’t a new Chevy truck in the driveway be a perfect way to say thank you for everything he did to make sure you became… you? Sure it would! And, bonus: once you’ve bought him a truck, you’re probably good on Father’s Day presents for at least a decade!

2) DADS LOVE SPORTS

While it’s not a for-sure thing that your Dad loves sports, Dads do have a known proclivity for passing out in the recliner while the game is on. That said, not many are able to take a nap in the bleachers while surrounded by thousands of cheering fans, and getting Dad out to the game is a great way to say thanks. College football means tailgating, and there’s no better tailgate to tailgate with than the one that’s attached to a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Some Silverado models even have a 120-volt AC outlet near the tailgate so Dad can plug in his blender, TV, or whatever else he needs to make your tailgate perfect.

3) BECAUSE PICKING IT OUT IS AN ADVENTURE

See, it would be a mistake to pick out Dad’s Silverado 1500 for him. A truck is like a great jacket: you’ll know the one that’s right for you when you see it. A decision like that takes time, and one of the few things that most Dads don’t mind shopping for is a new Chevy Truck! Luckily for you and him, the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado is available in eight exclusive trim levels, from the all-business work truck, to the rugged Trail Boss 4×4, to the ultra-luxurious and loaded 2020 Silverado 1500 High Country, so he can find the one that’s perfect for him. Too, imagine what a bonding experience that day will be, making memories that will last a lifetime.

4) DADS DESERVE SOME FUN TOO

Dad may have seemed stern and maybe a little boring when you were growing up, but here’s a secret: Dads are people too, and just like most people, Dad likes to have some fun! If he grew up loving the performance and power of hard-working Chevy trucks, a new 2020 Silverado 1500 might just be the ultimate way to tell him thanks for being your Pop! Does Dad like muscle cars? Then check out the 2020 Silverado 1500 RST, which features a slightly lowered suspension and a streetwise look. Off-roading more his idea of a good time? Then a Silverado with the legendary Z71 4×4 package is perfect for throwing some mud. For even more fun, order up the available 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V8. Whichever Silverado you choose together, it’s gonna put a smile on his face that won’t quit.

We hope you and your Dad had a Happy Father’s Day. Want to make summer 2020 one that Dad will never forget? Chevy launches Bolt EV Academy to take the anxiety out of all-electric

From the adoption of the steering wheel over the “tiller” in very early automobiles, to standard-equipment seat belts, to today’s latest generation of safety and driver-assistance technology, there’s always going to be a learning curve as new innovations are rolled out to make driving safer, easier and better. That’s especially true of the industry’s long-awaited turn toward building planet-saving all-electric vehicles, with buyers having to pretty much start from scratch when it comes to learning how to fuel their vehicle, use their vehicle and get the most out of their time behind the wheel.

Chevy knows the all-electric learning curve can be intimidating for some people. To help, Chevy recently rolled out their new Bolt EV Academy. A series of 15 videos designed to help owners of the all-electric Chevy Bolt EV fit a zero-emissions car with a battery and charging station into their lives, Bolt EV Academy aims to make learning to drive and recharge their Bolt, whether they’re doing around-town driving or headed cross country.

Packed with tips and how-tos provided by the designers and engineers who created the Bolt EV, Bolt EV Academy is thorough and easy to understand, with the videos illustrating just how convenient, easy and fun it is to own an all-electric vehicle.

Academy Video Topics

Now available online at Youtube.com or Chevrolet.com, videos in the Bolt EV Academy include:

  • Charging at home
  • Charging on road trips
  • One-pedal driving and regen on demand
  • Your Bolt EV’s display screens
  • Active safety features
  • Cold weather driving tips

Chevrolet is going electric in a big way, and videos like those found in the Bolt EV Academy are making the process of switching from fossil fuels easier than ever before. Whether you’re looking to save the planet or just want a break on gas prices, there’s never been a better time to join the EV revolution! Give us a call at McLarty Daniel Chevrolet to learn more about the 2020 Bolt EV, or check out our vehicle selection online for more details. We’re looking forward to a brighter, cleaner future thanks to Chevrolet and your friends in the (green) car business at McLarty Daniel Chevrolet of Springdale.
