Designed to dazzle: the refreshed 2022 Chevy Traverse

A lot of things have changed due to coronavirus, and one of those things is the release schedules for Chevy’s latest models. Chevrolet was supposed to have the refreshed and updated 2021 Chevy Traverse on dealer lots early next year, but that’s been pushed back a due to General Motors retooling their factories to build ventilators and personal protective gear to help our frontline healthcare workers fight the war against Coronavirus. The next Traverse will now debut next year as a 2022 model.

The good news for Chevy fans is that Chevrolet released full details on the next-generation Traverse, and we’ve got ’em! So read on for everything that’s new, improved, updated and upgraded in the next version of one of Chevy’s hottest-selling SUVs. Chevrolet has a great thing going with the Chevy Traverse, which is Chevrolet’s third-best selling vehicle, behind the Chevy Silverado and Tahoe, with the Traverse seeing its best-ever sales in 2019, with almost 150,000 sold. Those models join the 1.3 million Traverse models sold since the nameplate debuted in 2009. That’s one popular SUV and it’s easy to see why, with a great blend of style, safety, technology, performance, three-row seating and best-in-class cargo space.

For the next Traverse, Chevy is making a great SUV even better. Is the Chevy Traverse a safe car? You bet it is. Nobody takes safety more seriously than Chevy, and the 2022 Chevy Traverse will feature six advanced safety features standard across all trim levels, including Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert and more.

“With this refreshed Traverse, Chevy will have one of the freshest SUV lineups in the market,” said Steve Majoros, vice president of Chevrolet Marketing. “But it’s more than just looks. Traverse already offers a long list of safety features and will now offer more standard safety features across all trims, in addition to the functionality and style Traverse owners have come to appreciate.”

Externally, the 2022 Traverse will feature an updated front grille with styling that bears a resemblance to the Chevy Blazer, all-new Chevy Trailblazer and Chevy Camaro. Kicking the style up even further will be restyled front and rear fascias, four brand new alloy wheel designs, and signature LED headlamps and tail lamps.

“The new Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban has received an overwhelmingly positive response from consumers,” said Holt Ware, director of Chevrolet exteriors, crossovers and cars. “The new design of the 2022 Traverse gains this new commanding appearance and presence we know Traverse owners will appreciate.”

Inside, the smart sophistication continues, with all-new seating options, the available dual SkyScape 2-panel power sunroof with power sunshade, and an available 8-inch diagonal driver information center. Bringing the technology and keeping you connected is available wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity, a wireless charging pad for your phone, and quick-charge USB ports for all rows of seating.
