Chevy unveils the all-new 2021 Chevrolet Colorado
We’ve got gasoline in our veins when it comes to vehicles around here at McLarty Daniel Chevrolet of Springdale, and that’s especially true when it comes to our beloved Chevys. Given that, we always look forward to the unveiling of the latest models. This month brings a big update to one of our favorites, with Chevrolet releasing details on the all-new 2021 Chevrolet Colorado. Featuring more character, more color choices and more attitude than ever before, the 2021 Colorado is sure to make a splash when it rolls onto the McLarty Daniel Chevrolet lot next year.
An engineering and design upgrade of the best-looking midsize truck on the road, the 2021 Chevy Colorado will officially make its public debut at this year’s SEMA show in Las Vegas, with a pre-production prototype of the 2021 Colorado ZR2 4×4 on display.
Following what has been a trend at Chevrolet in recent years, the 2021 Colorado will feature more differentiation between trim levels, with the exclusive Sand Dune Metallic exterior paint color available on 2021 Colorado Z71 and ZR2 models. All trim groups will receive a revised Chevy bowtie emblem up front, and bold, stamped-in “CHEVROLET” embossing on the tailgate.
WT, LT and Z71 Colorado models will benefit from an updated grille and lower front fascia, with WT and LT models getting all-new gilded Chevy Bowties. The bowtie on the off-road Z71 models, meanwhile, will be sinister black, while all 4×4 models will be fitted with front skid plates to protect steering components.
The Colorado ZR2 4×4 gets an aggression boost to match its unmatched off-road capability, with an exclusive stencil-style cutout “CHEVROLET” grille, along with exclusive Multimatic DSSV position-sensitive dampers, front and rear electronic locking differentials, a factory two-inch lift, a 3.5-inch wider track, cab-protecting rock rails, cast iron control arms, multiple skid plates, and the rugged Autotrac transfer case.
“We’ve sold 520,000 Colorado pickups in five years through a relentless, foot-on-the-gas approach to product and feature updates,” said Bob Krapes, director of marketing, Chevrolet Trucks. “With its new-look front end and tailgate, Colorado will now have a more aggressive appearance to match its award-winning capability.”
The 2021 Chevrolet Colorado will go on sale in 2021, with all Colorado models proudly made in the USA at GM’s Wentzville Assembly Center in Wentzville Missouri.
