Keep It GM: GM Genuine Parts VS Non-OE Parts
Keep It GM: GM Genuine Parts VS Non-OE Parts
Being involved in a vehicle crash is a stressful situation from the initial impact to choosing a repair center that provides high-quality repair and service. At McLarty Daniel Chevrolet, we offer expertise and prompt service to get you back on the road. But more importantly, it’s our duty to give you peace of mind. That’s why McLarty Daniel Chevrolet Collision and Body Shop offers GM Original Equipment and OEM repair procedures to repair your GM vehicle to its original, pre-collision condition. GM Genuine Parts and ACDelco OE parts are guaranteed to provide form, fit, and finish so your GM vehicle operates smoothly. We would like to take this opportunity to explain why it is always better to use GM Genuine Parts when repairing your Chevy no matter if it’s a Malibu, Silverado HD or anything in between. Here’s why:
GM parts will automatically properly fit which eliminates unsightly gaps, rubbing, or other issues caused by improper fit.
GM parts are those originally designed for your vehicle and maintain the same structural integrity and quality.
Because GM parts are guaranteed to fit precisely and their verified build quality, this results in quick installation. Because non-OEM aftermarket parts are of unknown integrity and aren’t properly fitted, it can lead to a malfunction.
Using GM parts also maintains and contributes to the resale value of your Chevy vehicle. Improperly fitted parts with questionable structural quality can negatively affect your Chevy’s resale value.
This is a basic, yet crucial, list of reasons why it’s important to use GM Genuine Parts and ACDelco OE parts. When you need to repair your Chevy, preserve the integrity of your GM vehicle by receiving the proper form, fit, function, and quality. We can do that for you at McLarty Daniel Chevrolet Collision Body Shop and Auto Parts Department in Springdale, AR.

The Body Electric: First-Ever Electric Chevy Silverado 1500
Last month General Motors President Mark Reuss announced Chevrolet will introduce a Silverado electric pickup truck that will be built at the company’s Factory ZERO assembly plant in Detroit and Hamtramck, Michigan. GM has made plans to deliver more than 1 million electric vehicles globally by 2025 and earn EV market leadership. It looks like GM is off to a great start!
ELECTRIC SILVERADO 1500
Welcome to the future! The Chevrolet Silverado electric full-size pickup is designed to be an EV, harnessing both the best of the Ultium Platform and Silverado’s proven capability. Ultium batteries are unique because the large-format, pouch-style cells can be stacked vertically or horizontally inside the battery pack. This allows engineers to optimize battery energy storage and layout for each vehicle design. The Ultium energy options range from 50 to 200 kWh, which could enable the electric Silverado to offer an estimated range of up to 400 miles or more on a full charge.
FACTORY ZERO
In early 2020, GM invested $2.2 billion in its Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant to produce a variety of all-electric trucks and SUVs. GM renamed the plant Factory ZERO, which reflects GM’s vision of a future with zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion. Factory ZERO is the beginning of GM’s multi-brand EV strategy. The facility has advanced technology and tooling and is designed with a focus on sustainable manufacturing. Factory ZERO, overall, received comprehensive upgrades, including new machines, conveyors, controls and tooling. The plant has expanded to over 4.5 million square feet.
As a global company, General Motors is dedicated to the advancement of an all-electric future that is inclusive and accessible to all. Factory ZERO is proof that initial steps have been taken and the next step will be the production of the electric full-size pickup, the electric Silverado 1500. McLarty Daniel Chevrolet in Springdale is very proud to be part of this bright future. If you want to experience true quality and dedicated service, come by and let us assist you when you’re ready to purchase your next vehicle.
Expectations About the 2022 Chevy Camaro
Expectations About the 2022 Chevy Camaro
After much silence and anticipation, General Motors has finally confirmed that there will be a 2022 Chevy Camaro. Woot Woot!! So with that fact established, now comes the many speculations as to what diehard Camaro fans and Chevy enthusiasts should expect about their beloved sports coupe. Let’s take a closer look at what GM is up to with the 2022 Chevy Camaro.
EXTERIOR EXPECTATIONS
One thing is for certain, the Camaro will be available in two body styles, two-door coupe and two-door soft-top convertible. The 2022 Camaro is expected to be available in similar trims as its previous models and there are quite a few to choose from too. For the two-door coupe, the 1LS is the basic trim, then you have the 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, LT1, 1SS, 2SS, and ZL1. The SS is Chevy’s SuperSport (SS) package and the ZL1 is the topmost trim. The convertible body style will be available in all of these aforementioned trims except the 1LS.
HORSEPOWER OPTIONS
Word around the campfire is that the 2022 Camaro will probably be equipped with the same powertrains as the 2021 model and share the same four engine variants. The first one is a turbocharged 2.0-liter Inline 4 engine. The second variant is a 3.6-liter V6 dual overhead cam engine. The last two engines are V8s. The 6.2-liter V8 overhead valve engine makes 339.3 horsepower and 455 lb.-ft. of torque. And finally, a supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8 overhead valve engine that cranks out 485 horsepower and an impressive 650 lb.-ft. of torque which is equipped in the Chevy Camaro SS package. All engines will come with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, while the V8s will utilize active rev-matching technology.
BEYOND 2022
We expect that the sixth-generation Camaro will live on for the 2022 model year and that an all-new, future Chevy Camaro will launch sometime in the 2023 calendar year with all-new interior, next-generation infotainment system and more GM Active Safety features and technologies. However, that vehicle might not be called Camaro and could be electric.
The wait is finally over! The new 2022 Chevy Camaro is expected to go into production in June of this year and hitting showroom floors later in the fall. But if you have the need for speed now, come by McLarty Daniel Chevrolet in Springdale to take a test drive in the 2021 Camaro and experience the sharp performance and style of America’s favorite sports coupe.

HELLO SUNSHINE
First and foremost, let’s clear out the winter stuff like your extra pair of gloves, ice scraper, and tire chains. Get the sunshine in your ride by cleaning all the windows. To get the staleness out of the air vacuum the upholstery, and wipe down the interior of your ride with car cleaning wipes for a fresh feel. Then to revitalize the interior’s surface, wipe down the interior with a protectant to protect the vinyl or leather from UV rays. It’s always a great practice to keep some safety items like a flashlight with fresh batteries for emergencies, a tire pressure gauge, and — to help keep everyone safe until Covid-19 is beaten and done — a package of disposable face masks and a bottle of hand sanitizer
REGULAR MAINTENANCE
For a smooth-running vehicle, make sure that your vehicle’s fluid levels are at the optimal operating levels according to the recommendations in your owner’s manual. Along with routine oil changes, check your vehicle’s air filter to see if it needs to be replaced. Not only does a fresh air filter keep your vehicle breathing well, but it will also improve your fuel economy. While you’re under the hood checking fluid levels and filters, make sure to see if your vehicle has enough windshield wiper fluid, and clear out any dead leaves from under the hood.
TIRES, CHECK!
The pressure in your vehicle’s tires will have fluctuated due to outdoor temperature changes during the winter. While a few pounds of pressure one way or the other might not seem like a big deal, consider this: when you have an underinflated tire, your gas mileage goes down and the risk of having a flat tire goes up. If the tire is overinflated, you are also at risk of a dangerous blowout. That is why it’s good to have a tire gauge tucked away in the glove box. Usually, the recommended PSI (pounds per square inch) is between 30 to 35. Check your automotive manual for your vehicle’s recommended PSI.
These are just a few suggestions for spring cleaning your vehicle and begin your spring travels on the right foot. At McLarty Daniel Chevrolet in Springdale, our customers are our main priority. Let us assist you when the time comes for you to buy your next new vehicle. If your car is in need of maintenance or service, you can schedule a service maintenance appointment online.
