2022 Corvette Stingray Championship Edition Debuts

The year 2020 was owned by Corvette Racing as the winnings in the 2020 International Motor Sports Association sportscar championship series stacked up. This long list of wins included the taking of Manufacturers, Drivers and Team titles, six victories and seven pole positions, plus setting the fastest class race laps in six events. Chevrolet also won its 13th GT Manufacturers title! To celebrate Corvette Racing’s awesome 2020 racing season, Chevrolet introduced the 2022 Corvette Stingray IMSA GTLM Championship Edition.

CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION

The 2022 Corvette Stingray IMSA GTLM Championship Edition is based on the 3LT trim with Z51 Performance Package. Cabin features include a Strike Yellow and Sky Cool Gray racing theme with standard GT2 seats as the Competition Sport seats are available along with yellow seat belts and a C8.R Special Edition numbered plaque. Each car’s exterior includes Corvette Racing-themed graphics packages. The Accelerate Yellow No. 3 edition features gray graphics and the Hypersonic Gray No. 4 edition features yellow accents. Exterior features also include a high-wing spoiler and exterior mirrors in Carbon Flash, yellow brake calipers, black Trident-designed wheels and lug nuts with the logo on the center caps, along with side rockers, and splash guards. Each car comes with a custom-fitted indoor car cover.

NEW STINGRAY FEATURES

Along with the new Championship Edition, the 2022 Corvette Stingray lineup features three new exterior colors: Hypersonic Gray, Caffeine and Amplify Orange Tintcoat. For the non-Z51 models, a new low-profile rear spoiler and the Z51 front splitter will be available. As for under the hood, the LT2 6.2-liter V8 engine will have an upgraded direct injection fuel system, improved engine calibration and an enhanced Active Fuel Management range. The V8 engine will still crank out 490 horsepower.
